Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you have a physician referral, bring it to your first appointment.
I am happy to collaborate with your physician.
In Tennessee there is direct-access for physical therapy, so you may seek out physical therapy without a referral. If your care needs extends beyond 90 days, I would need a physician’s order to continue your care.
The exception to this would be for those who have Medicare or Tricare where I do need a physician's referral for care.
Pelvic health should be individualized. Recommendations for frequency of treatments and expected duration of care vary depending on your symptoms and irritability of those symptoms. We will discuss specific recommendations after your evaluation.
Concierge, in-home physical therapy/coaching is reserved for kids and pregnant/postpartum women.
-There is no additional travel cost for your first post-partum visit.
Additional travel costs:
-For homes within a 6 -mile radius of the home office, there is an additional cost of $25 a session.
--For homes 7-10 miles away from the home office, the additional travel cost would be $45.

Yes. Your OB/GYN will need to help manage the pessary approximately three months after a fitting.

Yes! The owner, Dr. Loeffel treats all clients each and every session. You will never be passed off to an aide or someone with inadequate training.
We strive to provide the highest quality of care where clients are seen privately, one-on-one and with a true specialist. Our services are covered under you out-of-network benefits. You may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company based on those benefits. We provide a superbill (itemized statement) which has the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company. For most clients, working with a true specialist will reduce the number of total visits and length of time in rehab. Customized, progressive programming is more effective, producing better outcomes. We work with clients to determine frequency of appointments based on their needs. We accept all forms of payment, including health savings accounts and flexible savings accounts.
Not necessarily. Many doctors are not aware of the Pelvic Health services, nor the benefits. Medical school provides plenty of training on medications and surgery, but minimal (or no) information on the muscles of the pelvic floor. Many of our patients find us themselves after years of endless appointments, imaging, and medications.
